Calling all young environmentalists!
Starting on July 1st, Alternatives Journal’s interns are taking over A\J online for the summer!
Our student editorial team is working on bringing you cutting-edge and youth-directed environmental journalism that tells the stories of our times. On top of the features that we are working on, like our weekly video series the A\J Recap, we are putting out a call for submissions from young writers, artists, photographers and videographers.
Send us your stories, images, and videos and creative content about climate and environmental issues and activism. Tell us about what bothers you, what you are doing about it, and what you hope to achieve. What stories do you feel aren’t being told and should be? Write them and send them along to us!
We have seen momentum building this year as students have been getting on the streets striking every Friday to demand serious climate action. Through this summer series, we want to continue that conversation by sharing thoughts, fostering collaboration and taking action through storytelling. We’re all in this together. It is our future. And now is the time to tell our stories and discover the solutions that will empower a low-carbon, fossil-fuel-free future so we can all breathe easier.
Every Friday throughout Summer 2019, we will publish the best stories, art, photos and videos we received by the Wednesday of that week. For instance, to be posted by Friday July 5th, you would need to have submitted your article by Wednesday July 3rd.
